Grades 1-3

Punctuation is a unit that should be taught within the context of real writing, and can be very effective when presented within the framework of a workshop model. However, more hands-on activities that accompany direct instruction can certainly help to increase student engagement and retention for young learners.
Developed by the founders of The Curriculum Corner and delivered by VariQuest, these 13 lessons are meant to serve as workshop mini-lessons to teach students about various punctuation concepts.
This resource includes:

– 13 comprehensive lessons that detail the lesson’s objective, materials, preparation, procedure, and extensions; lessons can be adapted for exceptional learners beyond primary grades
– More than 50 downloadable materials, including anchor visuals, graphic organizers, exit tickets, flashcards, and more
– Description of the Writer’s Workshop model to follow lessons for best results
